Nah. We make what we do extremely well… and since we are a small operation
we like to keep it simple and streamlined.
Nop, we may be adding grilled corn soon. Mac and cheese is cost prohibitive when
made with premium quality ingredients so for now we are sticking with the most
popular BBQ picnic basics.
Yes, rib rub is gluten-free.
Yes, all slabs come precut for your ultimate convenience.
Our customers have frozen and re-heated them for up to 6 weeks after and they
tell us that the taste and texture are the same as when fresh off the grill.
OUR STORY
Michael ‘Hou’ Houston has been cooking and grilling nearly all his life. In 2017, after watching a weekend marathon of Grill Masters competitions, he and his wife decided to experiment with rubs and ribs. After his wife, Jamil, surprised him with a double barrel grill with his own logo “The GRILLA” logo on it, Hou was motivated to go “full hog” making a minimum of 12 slabs at a time. By 2019, Jamil had created several rubs, Hou had smoked hundreds of ribs, and together they perfected the technique that makes the meat uniquely tender, juicy and flavorful. With the support of the family, who consistently buys the first 20 slabs each month, they were finally convinced that maybe they were on to something truly special so they decided to expand the operation.
In early 2023 at the request of loyal customers, they added Jamil’s side dishes which have become extremely popular (made by “The Girl-ilLA.”). Today, they sell out each month and have added more grills and storage to meet growing demands.
